There are many exciting new features about the newest release of OS X, Tiger. But what really caught my attention, and was pointed out by a good friend of mine, was how the widgets on the new Dashboard feature are being implemented.

Many of the widget’s core files are .HTML pages and Javascript. This means that Dashboard is using an .HTML file to run applications on OS X. Why is this significant? I touched on it in my previous article, Interware. I believe that the future of the internet is to become the new OS. In that world, applications will be run on the internet. Dashboard is on the verge of this new technology.
