Dashboard Widget Design

If you don’t own a Macintosh then you might never have heard of a Dashboard Widget. If you do, you’ve probably already figured out that it’s one of the most talked about new features of Apple’s latest operating system, OS X Tiger.

What I find most intriguing is that Dashboard Widgets are a perfect way to get your web-based “product” onto someone’s computer. This eliminates many of the steps involved in having to access something via a web-browser, and it makes it a lot easier for the user to keep returning for more.

Here are a few Dashboard Widgets that illustrate how people are taking what is already offered on the internet and making it easily accessible via a Dashboard Widget.

It only takes a little imagination to realize that there are endless possibilities for churches, non-profits, corporations, etc. to significantly boost visibility.
