One thing that I do not hear discussed is the reasons why you even need a website. In my consulting work, I will frequently ask if the client is sure that they need a website.

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Digital Citizens: The blogger
A little piece in the BBC news about one of my favorite bloggers, Heather Armstrong. I will warn you, she is vulgar, and often inappropriate. Her site is not for everyone.
I like the site because it is real. She is very talented and very articulate and the two combined create a great read. And, because she is somewhat of a celebrity, it is important to know what is going on.
Something to think about is the fact that she doesn’t really instruct, market, or sell. She just is. And that is what she writes about. She is a mom, she is a designer, and she struggles with life.
All that to say that BBC is doing a series on “people whose creativity has been transformed in the digital age.”
From the site:
From blogging to podcasting, millions of ordinary people are becoming writers, journalists, broadcasters and film-makers thanks to increasingly affordable and accessible tools.
