What ended up happening was significant. Primarily, I was able to spend some time with some of the leaders in the industry of design and technology. Jeff Veen, JR Mahon, and Terry Mattingly. I was so encouraged to see that we are really headed in the right direction as a ministry.

GospelCon Was Good, The Lounge was Better

A quick disclosure. I am not a member of the alliance. As it turns out, I don’t think I was supposed to even be there. Which is kind of funny in reference to pretty much my entire ministry, but that is a different story.

I went to GospelCon because I was told about this conference that was being put on by the folks who did BibleGateway. I have tremendous respect for that project and wanted to go meet the people that pulled it off. It wasn’t until I was there the second night did I realize that this was a closed conference for alliance members. Ah well, now they have a donation from the Noah Institute.

Each of those three folks had a profound impact on me and renewed my vision for what is possible for today’s church. We spent HOURS in the lounge, listening to funky music, drinking cocktails and dreaming big. Stephen and I talked about new ideas with these three folks and saw some ways to adjust what we were doing and new concepts to explore.

As a ministry, the Noah Institute will be VERY busy over the next 6 to 12 months. Please pray for us as we continue to seek to help the church with design and technology.

As for Gospel Communications, I think that they have a tough job. And while I do not agree with everything the say or do, I applaud them for what they are able to accomplish, especially with BibleGateway.

They will be opening up the conference next year. I believe that it will be well worth the entrance fee. Especially if it is even 10% less than the industry conference which cost THOUSANDS of dollars more. Your church could learn a lot.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
