One thing that I do not hear discussed is the reasons why you even need a website. In my consulting work, I will frequently ask if the client is sure that they need a website.

It has been some time since I gave you an update about BetaChurch. The site has been live for just about 8 months and we now average 400 unique sessions a day. That has been due to word of mouth and by blogging. To date, we have not advertised.
In that time, we have learned a great deal. I believe the greatest lesson is that we are not alone. There are many people on the web who care about these topics. It is SO comforting to know that there are pockets of talented individuals who are asking the church the same questions that we are.
On the other hand, I believe that this process has also taught us that we are not yet reaching those we need to reach. I believe that we are “preaching to the choir” for the most part. Our mission with BetaChurch is to reach those that know as well as those that do not. We are 50% there! We need to reach the pastors, church leaders, and others who have not considered how design and technology is being used.
In order to do that, we will need to reach beyond our current audience. One way to do that is by advertising in the media that those we want to reach are participating in. So we want to raise some money to advertise in new media and begin to reach the other half.
We have added a donation button on the right. Please consider donating and helping us move into reaching the other half.
Thanks for all of your support and your participation in BetaChurch. Keep fighting the good fight and remember, you are not alone.
