Business group chat: Campfire

I love 37signals. Really, I feel like they get it. And get it, and keep getting it. They have changed the way that I work.

The one app that they have running that I never saw much use for was Campfire. I am sure it is useful, but who needs more chat? I mean really.

Well, this morning I got a pleasant surprise. Chat is now added TO MY BASECAMP ACCOUNT. Better yet, it is on a project level. Each PROJECT gets chat.

Why is that cool?

Now you can document conversations relating to a project in ONE place. All of them. Including the real-time chats. And it stores transcripts of everything.

Not only that, but try the paste feature with some code. You can paste code and is stays formatted as it should. You can see what you are working on and so can others. I really like this tool. Very cool.
