One thing that I do not hear discussed is the reasons why you even need a website. In my consulting work, I will frequently ask if the client is sure that they need a website.

I love my job. I love it because I can be a part of the world wide web. The living community, where anyone can touch anyone else.
Yesterday I posted a link to a very funny series of videos on my personal blog, The Microsoft Trainning Videos.
Today, I got an email from a writer for the Wall Street Journal asking if he could interview me about why I posted the videos and if I was a fan of the original Office.
How amazing is that… I post something on my own blog, and a writer from the Wall Street Journal contacts me the next day.
Why is this bit of self indulgence being posted here? Because there is a hidden warning. Truly anyone can read what you write. And it matters that even in the silly, day to day stuff, you have to have your facts straight and you must give credit where credit is due. As you blog and you tell your story, remember that you might get a call from someone you don’t know.
