One thing that I do not hear discussed is the reasons why you even need a website. In my consulting work, I will frequently ask if the client is sure that they need a website.

Where did we go… Check Out Google Apps

Wow. That was lame. We made some server changes and the DNS got messed up. That brought the site down for a bit. Sorry for the confusion. We aren’t going anywhere.
Looking for an all in one solution for your church or para-church organization? Have you been looking at Microsoft Exchange or other hosted solution for email, calendaring and contacts?
Well, stop. Head on over to Google Apps. It seems almost too good to be true.
From the site:
Whether you’re a family, a club with chapters nationwide, or an international association, Google Apps will let your members communicate and work together online, all for free. Google Apps lets you offer email, instant messaging, and calendar accounts on your own domain name (for example, jsmith@your-group.com), to keep your group close and build its online identity. You can also design and publish web pages to show others what you’re all about.
Best of all, it’s all hosted by Google, so there’s no hardware or software to download, install or maintain. You can get up and running quickly, even if you don’t have any technical experience, and if you don’t have an internet domain yet, we can help you register one when you sign up.
In Short, mobile, free, collaboration tools and email. And, it all lives at YOUR domain name, not a sub domain like myproject.projectplace.com. So your email, and all your communication is handled through a domain that will make sense to your users.
Essentially, you get email, instant messaging, calendaring, a start page, documents, spreadsheets, and more. You can work on documents together, organize members in a spreadsheet, email, chat and stay organized. Pretty cool stuff. All for free.
If you are looking to an alternative to Microsoft Exchange or another collaboration/email tool, you need to consider Google Apps.
Finally, don’t take my word for it. Go look at the testimonials (Lots of video). The Arizona State University story is amazing all by itself.

they just need to add a base camp feature and i would jump on that.
