One thing that I do not hear discussed is the reasons why you even need a website. In my consulting work, I will frequently ask if the client is sure that they need a website.

Perhaps you have heard the buzz surrounding Silverlight.

It’s getting exciting with the “convergence” of RIAs and the desktop. Personally Adobe’s Apollo and Flex look a little more intriguing, especially being a Mac and Linux guy most of the time. Also, you Rails guys should check out Joyent’s Slingshot.
