One thing that I do not hear discussed is the reasons why you even need a website. In my consulting work, I will frequently ask if the client is sure that they need a website.

Zentation

Finally, a web app that shows PowerPoint Presentations in conjunction with a video. Zentation is in beta, so it’s free right now. One drawback, depending on your opinion, is that you must upload your video using Google Video. Sample presentations are on their front page. The ability to go full screen is great. I have yet to use the service, but plan to in the very near future. This is something that online sermons have needed for awhile.
*Nod to Guy Kawasaki

Not to divert too much attention from Zentation, but SlideShare has just released their World’s Best Presentation Contest Winners. Pastors and churches and anyone else that have to create presentations would do well to peruse this site, and by peruse I mean its actual meaning: “to read through with thoroughness or care”*
Shift Happens, their top winner, is much food for thought, and also nice to look at. PowerPoint Pastors take note!
Blake Atwood July 12th, 2007 at 12:17 pmUm, am I missing something? Why not just make a movie with iMovie or Windows Movie Maker? With QuickTime you can even add the ability to click forward or backward through a presentation. Why create a presentation in one application, upload movies to a second application, then try to tie them together with a third application? Building it all as a movie with a good movie editor sounds much more simple.
Curtis July 27th, 2007 at 1:44 pmDifferent strokes (and aptitudes) for different folks. The interface at Zentation (although I haven’t used it extensively yet) may better suit someone who’s not familiar with video editing apps. Thanks for the Quicktime tip though. I didn’t know you could do that. (I’m also a recent semi-convert to a Mac, so I’m still learning the ropes on that system).
